Afternic Now Offers Two-Step Verification to Keep Customers’ Accounts Secure

The security and integrity of customer accounts is a top priority for GoDaddy. That’s why Afternic—A GoDaddy company, is proud to announce the implementation of two-step verification (2FV) for users on its domain trading platform.

“Two-Step verification is an extra layer of security to help you reduce account compromises due to phishing attacks,” says Paul Nicks, GoDaddy Vice President and GM of Aftermarket. Users can now choose from three methods for logging into their accounts securely and verifying their identities.

Two Step methods include the use of third-party apps like Google Authenticator or Twilio’s Authy (both available for Android or iOS) to generate a random string of numbers used in each log-in. Users can also request a numeric code sent to their phones via SMS or use a hardware security key like Yubico’s YubiKey or Google Titan. Any of these enhanced security methods will greatly reduce fraud and serve as a serious obstacle for hackers, making your Afternic account safer.

Setting up two-step verification is easy and Afternic recommends it for all users. Click here to learn more about how it’s done.
