On April 27, GoDaddy announced its intention to sell the velia and Server4You businesses, two website hosting providers based in Europe. The purchase is being led by a team including several GoDaddy employees with significant and long-standing experience with the brands. The transaction is expected to close by the third quarter of 2023.

Earlier in 2023, GoDaddy highlighted its intention to continue to position GoDaddy for future growth by focusing on its core offering and customer. The sale of velia and Server4You aligns with this focus by dedicating resources to bringing more innovative experiences to the company’s core customer set and focusing to deliver profitable revenue growth.

Whereas GoDaddy’s global shared hosting product offerings serve many customers using a single server, velia’s and Server4You’s focus is on hosting customers with dedicated hosting infrastructure based on one-to-one customer relationships – meaning one server is dedicated to each customer.

A group of employees associated with these brands will transition to the new business when the transaction closes. GoDaddy is grateful for their contributions to the GoDaddy business. GoDaddy and the buyer will cooperate to ensure a smooth transition for velia and Server4You employees, customers and stakeholders.
