GoDaddy Expanding Bay Area Footprint ... Again Opening Office in Moffett Towers to Accommodate Rapid Growth

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (July 16, 2013) – GoDaddy, the Web’s largest platform for small businesses, is preparing to open a new Bay Area office in Sunnyvale. The new facility affords GoDaddy 40,000 square feet of space in a great location, tripling its current Sunnyvale capacity to make room for the influx of new talent.

When GoDaddy opened its first Bay Area office in February, 40 employees were based in Sunnyvale. By June, the employee count more than doubled and is continuing to grow as GoDaddy builds out its product and technology teams. GoDaddy will be joining companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google and HP at the Moffett Towers location.

“We picked Moffett Towers because it has the amenities we need to attract top talent, as well as its great location in the Bay,” said GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving. “Employees will enjoy a gourmet café, indoor basketball and volleyball, a full gym, and an outdoor swimming pool. We’ll even have a climbing wall. Our employees are active and love these type of amenities.”

GoDaddy has made a number of significant hires this year, attracting leadership and technology talent from the likes of Amazon, eBay, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and AT&T. GoDaddy is focused on enhancing its products to serve small business customers. Over the last several months, GoDaddy has launched new versions of its Website Builder, expanded its mobile offerings, prepared for ICANN’s new gTLD expansion and opened a technology center in Kirkland, Wash., near Seattle.

“The best incentive we can give employees is a platform where they can make a difference,” Irving said. I haven’t met a developer yet who doesn’t want to change the world for the better with their work – and that’s what we’re doing for small businesses. We’re giving people simple, elegant products to harness the power of the Web in starting and growing their own ventures. GoDaddy is attracting incredible technical talent to help make our vision a reality and we’re making it easy by creating great workspaces where the talent lives. That means opening offices in places like the Bay Area and Seattle.”

In May, the company broke ground on the GoDaddy Global Technology Center, a state-of-the-art 150,000 square foot facility at the ASU Research Park in Tempe, Ariz. It will provide room for further expansion beyond the 300 new jobs expected to be created when the campus is completed in 2014. Right now, the Scottsdale-based company also has offices in four other locations in Arizona, as well as Colorado, Iowa and Hyderabad, India. Other international facilities include Canada, Singapore and The Netherlands.
