GoDaddy Scores Super Bowl Victory

Achieves Best "New Customer" Sunday in 20-Year Company History

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GoDaddy Inc. (NYSE: GDDY), the world's largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures, recorded its best-ever Sunday for attracting new customers in the books, courtesy of a successful Super Bowl campaign. About half of new customers signed up for GoDaddy's innovative mobile-friendly website builder, GoCentral.

Among the 'big wins' for GoDaddy's Super Bowl marketing campaign:

- Best-ever 'new customer' registrations & sign-ups on a Sunday
- 19 MM+ video views of its Super Bowl ad & teasers clips, across all social channels
- Mobile traffic spike, with 58% of its web traffic during the ad coming from tablets/smartphones
- 62% of all GoCentral websites registered were built by customers in less than an hour

"We've always said we do Super Bowl commercials because we know how to use them to ring the register – and this year was absolutely awesome," said GoDaddy Chief Marketing Officer Barb Rechterman. "Our campaign revolved around GoCentral – and we literally monitored the build-time from registration to completed site tonight during the game. It was so cool to see so many sites going up throughout the game. And it didn't hurt that the game went into overtime, in fact, our traffic kept rolling even after that heart-stopping, first-ever overtime Super Bowl."

Super Bowl-sized Product Launch
GoCentral, fueled by GoDaddy's Super Bowl marketing muscle, launched fewer than two weeks ago. It's a new service that combines a mobile-optimized website builder with an integrated set of marketing and e-commerce tools to help get sites noticed online, and register search results with popular sites like Facebook and Google. GoCentral users don't need technical skills, or a credit card in order to build their professional website in less than an hour with the help of GoDaddy's newly-released "smart technology."

GoCentral Customers Building Websites during Game
A customer, in Texas where the Super Bowl was being played, published his new mobile-friendly business website during the game, while he watched the game. He was impressed with how quickly he created the site, in spite of having no special tech expertise. "I just started a new business so I was looking for the easiest product to create a website, and GoDaddy GoCentral is super simple," said Arch Hester, Founder of Warm Water Guide Service, which provides bass-fishing tours in Texas. "I really like being able to add my own photos and quickly pick the layout of the website. I'm not a big computer guy, so this worked great for me."

Racking Up Millions of Online Video Views
The new Super Bowl commercial is called "Good Morning." It was released last week, well before the game and quickly racked up more than 19 million video views, across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Some speculate viewers wanted to see it over and over in order to identify the number of Internet gags and memes, which were packed into the thirty-second ad at the rate of more than one-per-second.

Character & Credits
The campaign, produced by Bullish, introduced a new character who personifies the Internet, and the idea that no one knows the Internet like GoDaddy. The character is played by Adam Carpenter. His quirky ad-lib creativity and physical humor qualities shine in both the spot and the Internet-Only cut, which you can see at right now. People can expect to see more of "The Internet" on television, as well as in social media. In the days ahead Onion Labs at the Onion will be serving up their engaging brand of humor with "The Internet."
